Collector's gold medal in the size of a 1-ducat with the motive of the Competition Design for the first Czechoslovak ducats from 1923 by the author Antonin Mara.

To mark the fifth anniversary of the Czechoslovak Republic, the first Czechoslovak coins were issued in 1923. They were ducats and double ducats, for the minting of which a competition was announced. All well-known sculptors and medalists of the time took part in the competition. These were, for example, Jaroslav Benda, Jaroslav Bruha, Jan Cejka, Zdenek Dvorak, Josef Fojtik, Josef Sejnost, Otakar Spanel and others.                          

Antonin Mara, sculptor, medalist and pedagogue, was also awarded for his design. He was born on June 28, 1877 in Prague and died on February 27, 1946 there. Antonin Mara is the author of war memorials, figures, reliefs, memorial plaques, medals, etc.
